The new YUGO sink from Italian brand Scarabeo is a platform that translates the “harmony between opposites into materiality, combining Italian design and Eastern philosophical influences.”
Designed by Studio Adolini, the product transforms an everyday object into a visual and sensorial experience, the company says. “The project explores the theme of balance between solidity and lightness, geometry and fluidity, rationality and poetry, giving life to a sink that goes beyond simple function to become an expression of calm, introspection and conscious beauty,” the company adds.

The design takes shape from the fusion of two primary geometries—the square and the circle—symbols of stability and openness, respectively. The fluid transition between these two shapes generates a sculptural yet essential object.
The unit is understated and refined: the linearity of the square evolves naturally into the softness of the circle, creating a balanced silhouette. “Inspiration from Japanese culture—where simplicity, spirituality and respect for materials coexist—strengthens the product’s emotional impact, generating an immediate sense of order and serenity,” the brand says.

Studio Adolini designed Yugo to integrate details that enhance the user experience, including internal curves that promote proper water flow, the calibrated depth reduces splashes, thin, continuous edges that facilitate daily cleaning.
“The hybrid shape responds to specific functional needs,” the brand explains. “The square base ensures stability and ease of installation, while the circular upper part optimizes space and storage capacity. The result is an intuitive, practical and pleasant-to-use sink, capable of elevating the everyday act of washing into a moment of true well-being.”

Scarabeo says the line strengthens the brand’s positioning as an interpreter of emotional and conscious design, capable of combining formal research, ceramic craftsmanship and conceptual depth.
The ceramic line is made with a production process that is optimized to reduce waste and energy, thanks to efficient firing technologies and low-impact systems, Scarabeo claims. It’s available in two sizes–55 centimeters by 40 centimeters and 40 centimeters by 40 centimeters–and in multiple colors, including black, green and a wheat color.
