Articolo Studios Celebrates Anniversary With Two New Lights

By: Rachel Dobbs

Australian lighting and furniture brand Articolo Studios is celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2025. To celebrate, the brand is launching two new lighting collections–a technologically driven task light and a textured cast-glass pendant.

The brand says the collections “embody 10 years of maturity and dedication to refinement and artistry.”

“Celebrating our tenth year gives us a sense of maturity, confidence, and conviction in who we are and where we are headed,” says Nicci Kavals, founder and creative director. “The foundations are laid, and we are now at the starting gates, ready to unfold the greater vision for the brand. This milestone is an achievement, but true mastery takes a lifetime. We see this as just the beginning of an enduring brand—one that will outlive its founders.”

Earlier this April at Euroluce (2025 Salone del Mobile), the brand launched Swivel and Cubo.

The first adjustable task light within Articolo’s collection, Swivel is a feat of design and engineering, Articolo says. “The tacit knowledge accrued from ten years in lighting has resulted in a light that offers exceptional performance and technical intelligence without sacrificing the meticulously designed decorative fittings for which Articolo is renowned.” the brand adds.

As a wall sconce, Swivel can be orientated to the task at hand. The ovoid diffuser is crafted from European glass, which offers exceptional clarity. When installed in the bathroom, the consistent, directional light allows users to apply makeup or perform daily grooming rituals perfectly illuminated without casting shadows. “As a modular fitting, the wall sconce can be connected resulting in a commanding sculptural array and as each fitting is independently adjustable, one can create a bespoke lighting scape to complement their interior environment,” the brand says.

As a pendant, Swivel can be suspended for a singular concentrated task light or when connected in multiple configurations, each unit can be curated to create custom light solutions to compliment one’s life—whether it’s task light over an island to prepare food or a customized lighting scene around a dining table.

“Clients are increasingly seeking bespoke designs to make a statement in their spaces,” Kavals says. “Swivel is customisable, allowing clients to tailor lighting fixtures to their specific preferences in terms of materials, finishes, and even the overall design.”

The fixture is available in brass or bronze and can be customised with a choice of five stain-resistant leathers imported from the United States or brass or silver Italian mesh. It’s available in lengths of 500-millimeter increments, from 550 millimeters to 1550 millimeters. The fitting rotates at 15-degree intervals in a full 360-degree cycle, allowing users to uplight the ceiling, concentrate light on the task at hand or highlight artwork or architectural details.

Where Swivel is sleek and modern, Cubo is more organic. Each light has been honed to reveal simplicity of form, with careful edits to remove the superfluous where form and function unfold in perfect equilibrium, the company says.

Cubo continues Articolo Studios’ exploration in contrasts—juxtaposing precision machined materials with the handcrafted, solidity with transparency, strong geometry, with textural chromatic refractions. The result is a collection of eight wall sconces and pendants that unite in concentric, geometric form yet offer a diversity of configurations and chromatic and textural light and shadow interactions.

Molten glass is poured into a hand-chiseled wooden mold, producing a unique textural imprint on the surface of each glass block. It’s available in a choice of brass or bronze casing and five desaturated glass hues–Ice, Guava, Honey, Mint and Smoke–each named in honor of Kavals culinary past. Cubo can be customized to complement any interior environment, personality or color preference.

The unadorned geometry of Cubo feels architectonic and grounded while Cubo Swing offers a lighter, more playful interpretation—creating a sense of movement within the interior environment.
