Gaspare Introduces Whimsical Aria Lighting Line

By Chris L. Brown

This light allows up to 11 accent globes.

The multifaceted design studio Gaspare Asaro says the new Aria Collection of lighting opens up a world of creative possibilities.

Composed of a thick hand-blown glass sphere, the pieces in the collection allow for a wide variety of configurations via smaller accent globes that can easily be attached at up to 11 points for the pendant and up to six for the flush mount ceiling and sconce versions.

Established in 2010, Gaspare Asaro is a family run design studio that specializes in unique lighting and furniture so the Aria fits right into this mold.

“The inspiration for the Aria was to create a light and airy fixture that is soft and mimics floating,” a rep from the Milan, Italy, and New York-based company says. “Company principal Vittorio Asaro is an avid freediver and was inspired by the serene bubbles surrounding him in the water. He wanted to create a light that the client could interact with and truly make their own via the colors and positions of the accent globes, which can be rearranged with ease depending on the buyer’s personality and mood.”

Aria is available as a pendant, flush mount or a wall sconce. Pendants start at $10,500 for standard finishes and $11,500 for premium finishes. Accent globes are available in 3- and 5-inch diameters, in clear, light rose and light blue options. They are priced at $300 and $$350.

Flushmount and sconces starting at $7,500 for standard finishes and $8,250 for premium finishes. The metal hardware is available in 10 finishes.

The company says Aria is a perfect eye-catching standalone piece or can be installed in a dramatic multi-light configuration. It could work in almost any space, as a single pendant in an entry, a dining nook or a bathroom, the company added.

“As a larger composition of multiple fixtures, it would be perfect as a staggered cluster as the focal point of a living room, mirrored bedside in bedrooms, or lined up in larger kitchen spaces like over an island,” the company explains. “The wall lights/flush mount came as a natural complementing counterpart to the pendant and would be great in a powder room, bedroom, or any space that needs a smaller-scaled light with character.”
