Italian ceramic tile manufacturer Casalgrande Padana has introduced a new collection of cooktops that are entirely integrated into porcelain stoneware tiles.
Instead of being installed under ceramic glass, the Ghost collection of cooktops features porcelain, the company says, because it’s flexible, versatile, durable and offers superb technical characteristics. “This smart solution combines technical performance with style, for a kitchen concept able to adapt to all kinds of needs in spaces of all sizes,” the brands says.
The induction hobs can be paired perfectly with the ceramic surfaces in the company catalogue in 12-millimeter and 20-millimeter thicknesses, offering an innovative, designer solution that integrates induction cooktop technology directly into the kitchen worktop “for a smooth, even, seamless surface that not only brings an elegant, modern look to the kitchen, but also offers more space to work with and a more practical option even when it’s not being used for cooking.”

“Subtle, shimmering light effects, delicate transparencies, attractive veining patterns and sophisticated details shape seamless interior design projects with the accent on elegance, creating refined, modern, understated total looks that also embrace elements such as floors, walls and worktops, as well as islands and tables.
Casalgrande Padana says the products are simple and stylish and are suitable for all kinds of décor looks and design requirements, from resort kitchens and restaurants to private residences. The integrated induction hobs are available in two versions: Silent, with a built-in filtering extractor system, and Invisible, integrated below a stoneware top with surround lighting.

Silent
This cooktop model has a high-tech extractor system built in below the stoneware. It offers four cooking zones with a bridge function for longer pots on both sides, an extractor motor with different speeds and an intensive option for extraction on both sides of the hob. Additionally, it has a touch control and an Easy Lift mechanism for the central part of the unit so the extractor can be cleaned quickly and easily without dismantling or removing any parts.

Invisible
Integrated below the porcelain stoneware kitchen worktop, this induction model has the surround lighting that marks off the four cooking zones, with bridge function for longer cookware. This exclusive product comes with an integrated, touch-operated remote control device. Both models have four cooking zones with double bridge function, and are equipped with touch-sensitive digital controls, 10 power levels + booster, residual heat indicator, child safety lock, pot detector function, overheating lock and timer.

Casalgrande Padana says its durable, non-absorbent, colour-fast surfaces are easy to clean and maintain and resistant to abrasions, heat, wear and tear, humidity, fire and changes in temperature.
“In addition, all the Casalgrande Padana collections are made exclusively from natural raw materials, and are both eco-compatible and recyclable,” the brand says. “The company’s philosophy has always been focused on attaining the highest standards of quality, through assiduous, applied research and the use throughout the production process of advanced manufacturing technologies designed to ensure maximum respect for the environment.”
The porcelain stoneware tiles for the GHost come in a wide range of varieties–inspired by concrete (Metropolis), marble (Marmora, Marmoker and Onici) or stone (Pietra Tiburtina, Pietre di Paragone and Pietre di Sardegna).
