High-end wood and pellet stove manufacturer Stûv America has unveiled a wood stove that the company says is designed for lovers of design and authentic warmth.
Available exclusively in North America, the s16-V is a new mid-century-inspired model with clean lines and a wide open box that gives home owners a good view of the flame. It’s the fifth member of the s16 family, the brand says.
Like the other members of the s16 family, the s16-V incorporates smart mechanisms that ensure simple, efficient operation. With no visible handle, it offers an unobstructed view of the fire. “Its door opens easily with a removable key, while a mobile smoke deflector activates automatically to evacuate smoke and prevent any backflow into the room,” the company says. “No air controls need to be adjusted: simply light the fire and fully enjoy the warmth.”

The unit is available in three models: 58, 68 and 78. Offering a roughly 25-inch-wide-by-20-inch firebox, the 58 model has a 65,000 BTU maximum heat output. It is able to heat about 1,400 square feet of space.
The 68 measures 29 inches by 20 inches and offers a 82,000-BTU maximum heat output. It is estimated to heat 1,650 square feet of space. And lastly, the 78 measures 33 inches by 20 inches, offers a 86,000-BTU output and will heat a 2,100-square-foot space.
All units stand about 36 inches tall and EPA-certified and fully compliant with current environmental standards. Made from steel, the unit features a vermiculite interior and comes in two colors: Stûv grey and black.

In addition, the collection comes with various accessories. The podium set offers a place for the appliance, a smaller podium with a drawer and a mobile log rack with a drawer to store matches and other accessories. Offered separately, the Stûv 16 podium set allows users to create the layout that best suits each project, the company says.

Stûv America is the North American subsidiary of Stûv SA, a Belgian company founded in 1983 to design and manufacture luxury wood and pellet stoves and fireplaces. For the past 17 years, Stûv America has been adapting products to North American standards and regulations, while manufacturing them locally in Quebec.
