Lumina is the new bathtub collection that its manufacturer, Glass Design, says is an evolved expression of material research and technological innovation. The company says the tub is where matter, light and well-being blend in an immersive experience.
“Lumina bathtubs represent an advanced synthesis of performance and aesthetic value, transforming a functional element into a true centerpiece of the bathroom space,” the Italian brand says.
The tub is crafted from VetroFreddo, an innovative material that Glass Design first introduced to the industry back in 2017. The material is made from a specialized mixture of glass pigments and resins, which makes it versatile for certain applications: It can be molded into unlimited shapes and is available in a wide variety of glossy, matte, semi-transparent, and opaque finishes, including specialized finishes like gold and silver leaf.

“The purity of the material is revealed through its extraordinary transparency, capable of enhancing light and amplifying the perception of space,” Glass Design says. “This is complemented by the Comfort Surface finish — a soft, velvety satin texture that adds a refined sensory dimension, making the experience even more enveloping.”
Lumina offers an ergonomic design, characterized by fluid lines and rounded edges, naturally embracing the body and improving comfort while enhancing the visual effect of the translucent surfaces.
A distinctive feature of the collection is the integrated 24V LED lighting system, designed not merely as a light source but as an integral part of the concept. “Light envelops the bathtub, creating a striking floating effect that makes it appear suspended in space, while inside it diffuses through the water, generating ever-changing reflections and color plays,” the brand notes.

Thanks to an integrated thermal dissipation system, the lighting ensures efficiency and long-lasting performance, contributing to a relaxing and scenographic atmosphere. The light diffused across the base of the tub enhances the “pool” effect, transforming every moment into an immersive experience that engages sight, touch, and perception, the brand adds.
Lumina measures about 67 inches long, 32 inches wide and 21 inches tall. It’s available in various transparent colors and with the Comfort Surface finish.
