Italian bath brand Antoniolupi has unveiled a highly innovative new Lineadacqua Sensor Faucet that eliminates the knob and activates the flow with a simple gesture, “turning the washbasin surface into a perfectly pure and continuous plane,” the brand says.
The latest version is the evolution of the washbasin project designed by Giorgio Rava. It “redefines the concept of the minimal washbasin with water delivery integrated into the wall, an update that brings the original concept to an even more radical level of minimalism by eliminating every visible control element,” the company says.
Antoniolupi says the system is a new design language for the bathroom environment: a linear cut in the wall completely conceals the water delivery system, eliminating the traditional faucet and transforming the wall itself into a true water source. “The result is a washbasin with a strong architectural character, where technology and design merge into a pure and essential form,” the company says.

This new version incorporates a touchless system. Users activate the water by simply bringing a hand close to the slit in the wall and stop it with the same gesture. No external control is required, and flow and temperature are set through a device located inside the cabinet, completely hidden from view.
“The elimination of the knob also represents a fundamental step from an aesthetic perspective,” the company says. “The washbasin top becomes a perfectly smooth and continuous surface, uninterrupted by taps or functional elements. The result is an even cleaner and more rigorous image, fully consistent with Antonioupli’s research toward a minimal and architectural bathroom design.”

A linear light positioned above the basin outlines its contours and enhances the perception of space; in the version without cabinet, light can also be integrated beneath the basin, creating a scenographic effect that further enhances the flow of water.
Lineadacqua is available in different configurations: as a standalone washbasin, with a suspended cabinet, or with a floor-standing unit, adapting to different living contexts and contemporary interior design projects. The cabinet doors, characterized by an irregular pleating, create refined plays of light and shadow that enrich the surface.
“The Lineadacqua project also extends to the freestanding bathtub and the shower, where the same architectural cut in the wall conceals the shower head, maintaining the core design principle intact: making technology invisible and transforming water into the true architectural element of the bathroom space,” the company says.
