Dutch kitchen and bath brand JEE-O has introduced a plug and play portable outdoor shower, IZI, that couples cool design with ease of use.
“Design and collaboration with designers are at the core of JEE-O,” says company founder Lammert Moerman. “Drawing on more than twenty years of expertise in outdoor showers, we were able to translate Ruben’s material concept into a product that is both practical and unique. With IZI, we combine the convenience of plug & play with the signature quality and design of JEE-O.”
Outdoor showers, the company says, are traditionally fixed installations or temporary solutions. IZI offers a combination of the two, bringing together high-end quality and design with the freedom to connect easily to a garden hose for instant use. “It combines the aesthetics and quality that JEE-O is known for, vested in more than twenty years of expertise in outdoor showering,” the brand says.

Designed by Ruben van Megen and debuting at Milan Design Week last month, the IZI originated from a meeting between designer Megen and Moerman one year during ICFF in New York. It’s designed for outdoor spaces where aesthetics and functionality go hand in hand–gardens, terraces, rooftop spaces or beach locations wherever water is an integral part of the design. It’s particularly ideal for those who see outdoor living as a lifestyle.
The shower connects directly to the outdoor tap via a universal garden hose coupling, making it usable without fixed installation. Its sculptural base and control knob are crafted from a unique sand composite, giving the object an organic, tactile character. It’s “a design that is not only practical but also evokes a sense of fun, freedom and outdoor living,” the brand says.
Van Megen is known for his experimental approach to material and form. Fascinated by sand, he develops collectible design objects in which transient material is transformed into something lasting. The sandcastles of his childhood serve as a key source of inspiration: what appears temporary is translated into durable design.

“Sand has something temporary about it,” says Van Megen. “It shifts, disappears, constantly changes. In my work, I try to transform that fleeting quality into something permanent. With IZI, that material gains a new context: an object that lives and is used outdoors.”
