New Zealand appliance brand Fisher & Paykel has expanded its Series 11 and Series 9 Modular Cooktop lines, adding a 15-inch single burner gas cooktop.
“With the launch of the Modular Cooktop Family, our customers were highly receptive to the design freedom the series afforded and expressed interest in a compact gas solution that would build on this concept, bringing even more flexibility to the kitchen,” says Stacey Sonbert, the company’s senior product line manager. “We’re proud to introduce the Gas on Glass Cooktop. The addition of this product to the Modular Cooktop Family gives individuals the best of both worlds–induction and gas–without sacrificing space or compromising aesthetics.”
Designed for cooking flexibility, the compact 15-inch cooktop delivers 17000 BTUs of heat from a single burner. The brand says the sleek, black ceramic glass surface pairs seamlessly with the Modular Cooktop Family’s various induction modules, creating customizable configuration options. The Gas on Glass Cooktop also can be installed independently, functioning without a primary cooktop to create a single cooking zone – ideal for kitchens or prep areas with smaller footprints.

The cooktop offers precise heat control, Fisher & Paykel says, from low temperatures for simmering sauces to high heat for searing steaks. “The dual flame wok burner can be easily adjusted with a highly responsive dial on the cooktop, with no primary cooktop needed,” the brand says. “If the flame is extinguished, the flame failure safety device will automatically turn off the gas line.”
Complementary to Fisher & Paykel’s Minimal and Contemporary kitchen appliances, the cooktop is made of eco-friendly, durable black ceramic glass and includes cast iron trivets and anodized metal dials that can withstand high temperatures. The company says the product also offers flexible installation options–either flush or proud–to fit various countertop designs.
