Häcker Kitchens Intros New Rattan Cabinet Front

By: Nigel F. Maynard

Drawing inspiration from the timeless appeal of woven materials, German cabinet brand Häcker Kitchens has introduced a new collection of cabinet fronts that mimics the look of real rattan.

An artful fusion of heritage craftsmanship and contemporary innovation, as the company calls it, the Rattan collection offers an “exquisitely detailed” door style that transcends natural texture into a design-forward statement.

“The modern kitchen is no longer confined to function alone, it is an evolving landscape where material, light and texture converge to create immersive experiences,” says Andreas Gommeringer, president of Häcker Kitchens North America. “Our Rattan cabinet fronts challenge traditional expectations, offering a surface that is as expressive as it is enduring. The interplay of structure and softness, of innovation and authenticity, elevates kitchen design to a more sensory and intentional level.”

A true celebration of materiality, Häcker Kitchens’ Rattan cabinet fronts offer a sculptural depth that engages the senses of sight and touch. More than just a surface, the intricate veneer construction captures the organic essence of classic caning while reinterpreting this traditional method of design for a new era of kitchen design, Häcker says.

The cabinets are available in three finishes—Elegant Oak, Elegant Walnut and Black Oak—which accentuates the nuanced grain and dimensionality of the material in a different way. Whether incorporated as a striking focal point or layered within a larger space, this finish grounds interiors with organic sensibility, the brand says.

Engineered with precision, the Rattan front features a multi-layer wood veneer, pressed to achieve the distinctive woven relief of real woven rattan. The wood-based panels feature real wood edge-banding veneer on all four sides, ensuring a seamless and durable composition. Softly rounded edges further enhance the design, offering a tactile transition between surfaces. This thoughtful construction not only highlights the beauty of the material but also underscores Häcker’s dedication to sustainability and longevity in design, the German company says.

“As the demand for authenticity in interiors continues to rise, the Rattan cabinet front stands as a testament to Häcker Kitchens’ commitment to pushing the boundaries of modern luxury,” the company says. “By blending craftsmanship with contemporary aesthetics, the brand continues to redefine what it means to experience the kitchen—not just as a space, but as a narrative of design, texture and innovation.”

Founded in 1898, Häcker Kitchens is a family-owned company that manufactures modern fitted kitchens and supplies more than 60 countries on every continent. The North American headquarters is located in Miami. The brand says it is the first kitchen furniture manufacturer whose entire product portfolio is climate-neutral.
