Kohler, Remedy Place Collaborate for New Ice Bath

By Nigel F. Maynard

Global kitchen and bath plumbing brand Kohler has teamed up with Remedy Place, which bills itself as the world’s first Social Wellness Club, to develop a lineup of self care products and experiences. First up is the Kohler x Remedy Place Ice Bath.

Kohler says the ice bath draws from 150 years of the brand’s design and manufacturing acumen combined with the insights from Remedy Place founder Dr. Jonathan Leary. The plumbing giant also used feedback from Remedy Place members who cite the benefits of cold therapy, the club’s signature offering and most popular tech-remedy. “Ice baths can reduce swelling in muscle tissue, accelerate the recovery process, and boost mental resilience and overall mood,” Kohler says.

According to the company, Remedy Place is a revolutionary social wellness club with establishments in New York and Los Angeles, and plans to create locations spanning North America and beyond.

“Remedy Place’s passion for designing to heal and Kohler’s advanced engineering and quality craftsmanship came together to create a sophisticated ice bath that transcends the at-home self-care category,” Leary says. “We’re excited to bring the Remedy Place experience and cold therapy benefits into people’s homes. Our partnership with Kohler embodies a deep appreciation for world-class design and innovation, with the shared goal of delivering breakthrough products and elevated self-care experiences to make people feel better.”

Made from Avonite Flex solid surface and weighing 550 pounds, the ice bath measures 78 inches long, 41 inches wide and 30 inches tall. The “one-of-a kind” unit features a contemporary dark design and a sleek aesthetic. Features include ergo-dynamic body positioning, a UV-powered filtration system and an all-in-one digital controller for simple and precise adjustment of the temperature, lighting and filter replacement reminder. The timer provides ergonomic visual tracking of the desired session length, which is complimented by a “breathe” light to help guide users breathing technique and optimize the experience. Bonus: a slot holds a tablet or phone upright.

The Ice Bath provides optional plumbing integration for easy filling and draining and is intended for both indoor or outdoor use. Kohler says the tub is paired with engaging content directed by Dr. Leary, including guided breathwork videos to help deliver best results and success when customers integrate the ice bath into their at-home self-care routines.

“Dr. Leary and Remedy Place have demonstrated proven success with a dynamic offering of products and services,” Katie Stevens, GM of Kohler Wellness, says. “Kohler has long provided our customers with bold and innovative products to help enhance their homes as a sanctuary for rest, recovery, and renewal – so working together in partnership with Dr. Leary will further advance our wellness design leadership.”
