Columbus, Ohio-based fireplace brand Ortal has entered the electric fireplace category with the launch of its first collection, Holographic.
The company built its reputation offering contemporary, frameless indoor gas products with features like flame-through-log, which produces the look of a wood fire by adding gas lines directly within the log media. But now the company is taking on another category–electric.
Electric fireplace is an important category that fills the need for certain situations. They are easy to install, energy efficient and are able to be installed in areas that cannot accept gas or wood burning units, such as multifamily developments. Ortal stresses that the versatility is a strong selling point of the new line.

Utilizing OLED-screen holographic projection to create lifelike 3D flames available, Holographic is designed with sustainability at its core, producing zero emissions while delivering heat output of up to 5,120 BTU per hour. The unit measures just 17¼ inches deep, so it’s also one of the shallowest models on the market, allowing designers to integrate into any space.
The line offers plenty of features, too. It has six flame options, including two traditional styles with three adjustable heights and speed settings that enhance ambience. Bonus: a cracking sound-effect option will give homeowners an even more realistic feeling. Additionally, users can seamlessly manage the fireplace’s features through a mobile app, handheld remote or voice commands via Google Assistant and Alexa.
Holographic can be configured for front-facing, corner or three-sided styles. Two sizes are available: 60 inches and 74 inches.
